There Is No One Way to Photograph Boudoir

There is no single way a boudoir photograph should look.

Some women prefer something soft and understated. Others want glamorous, sensual, playful or more provocative. Lighting, wardrobe, posing and mood can all change, but the aim remains the same: to create photographs that feel personal rather than predetermined.

You do not need to arrive knowing which version of yourself you want to photograph. We can discover that as we go.

THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME

Why Boudoir Fusion?

Seventeen years ago, I had never even heard the word boudoir.

Then a friend of mine had a boudoir shoot. What struck me was not only the photographs themselves, but how much her husband loved them. There was something about the combination of intimacy, beauty and photography that stayed with me.

When I began exploring the genre myself, I quickly discovered that there were purists who believed boudoir photography belonged in the bedroom. I saw it rather differently.

My photography has never fitted comfortably into one box. It moves between boudoir, glamour and lingerie photography, through to artistic nude and, when that is what someone wants to explore, something more erotic.

Sometimes it is soft and romantic. Sometimes glamorous and polished. Sometimes dark, provocative or unapologetically sensual. The common thread is not the room in which the photograph is taken, but the person in front of my camera and the photographs we set out to create.

And that is how Boudoir Fusion got its name.

A fusion of styles, ideas and different ways of interpreting what boudoir photography can be.

A boudoir shoot is intensely personal. For some women it is about creating beautiful photographs. For others it marks a birthday, a wedding, a change in life, or simply something they have wanted to do for years.

Whatever brings you here, the experience is built around you. From choosing what to wear and deciding how far you would like to take the shoot, to posing, lighting and expression, you are guided throughout.
